Was for sale in Cheffins Classic Car auction 7/4/01. Catalogue description (slightly inaccurate) was —
"1955 Land-Rover Series One 86ins. Registered to the Ministry of Defence in February 1955, this 86 was put to work with the Auxiliary Fire Service. After 20 or so years it was released and bought by the vendor for use on a private estate. The V5 document shows two changes of ownership since, but both have been within companies owned by the vendor. Although slightly scruffy, the Land-Rover runs very well and is fitted with a good set of tyres and importantly carries its correct 'SXF' Ministry registration number."
