I am now the owner of Land-Rover Series 1 SXF 119. I bought it three weeks ago from Ashted Classic Cars in Kenilworth. Currently it has a V8 which I am keeping, along with the truck cab and LWB axles — I love it. This winter from September I will be taking apart to rebuild her... currently dark green, I am thinking of doing her in Series 1 mid-grey or a classic dark blue?

Any further help with her history would be appreciated. She has had 6 owners and is showing 58000 miles.

Here are some pics from a few weeks ago — we spent the full day out and about with the roof off!

In September 2016 Andy posted to the LRSOC Forum:
Hello everyone. It has taken me 30 years to finally get a Series 1. I originally wanted an 86" with V8 truck cab, wider axles and Weller 8 spokes — not to everyone's taste, I know, but...
bought an 88" Series 1 1957 SXF model, truck cab, V8, LWB axles, 8 spokes, parabolics and pro comp shockers &mdash: far from standard but that is what I wanted anyway. Started to strip her two weeks ago.
Cheers Andy

I just wanted to let you know I have finished restoring SXF119. It won't be to everyone's taste but I have saved her, and I love her so much!

My view is that the vehicle was already non-standard when Andy bought it, and he's done a grand job of keeping a stunning vehicle on the road.

UPDATE

In April 2020 Andy sent more pics — 119 now has a very smart canvas top. Andy is now waiting for it to shrink to a less-baggy shape! It will, Andy!
