Original registration lost — now MSJ 755.
In December 2014, Chris Missin from Hull posted on the LRSOC forum:
Hi all, I've just aquired another S1 88". It was a MOS vehicle, reg. no. SXF471, chassis no. 111800979. I'm trying to get it running — I didn't have any luck with the V8, so have fitted a 2¼ petrol. It needs quite a bit of welding — I've found patches tacked on and smoothed over with bodyfiller!! It needs the rollcage removing to get the tub off and then I'll see better.
In a subsequent posting he wrote:
The 2¼ I've fitted has a cracked block. I might just use Radweld for now, it's running, so I can move it around easier.
In October 2015, Chris reported that 471 has a new owner, and a few days later I was contacted by Andy Peck, of Beverley in the East Riding. He said:
The Land Rover has a truck cab, and we think was always green. The MOS brass plate is with it and has a repair no and a date later in 1958. It now has a late Ser3 petrol engine.
The picture above was taken on the descent from the northern end of Rudland Rigg, North York Moors, on September 18th 2016. The SXF471 registration is now on a blue Volkswagen Golf.
