John Poole writes (10/01) "When I purchased SXF53 some 25 years ago, I was told anecdotally that it had originally been supplied to Liverpool Civil Defence, and that subsequently in the ownership of a Merseyside schoolteacher had travelled overland to India. I bought her from a garage, where she had done duty as a recovery truck. And with me she was more or less a family pet, going on beach holidays with us in Devon, but also when required doubling as a mechanised wheelbarrow."
Has ceased to be a runner (10/01) due to rotten chassis and bulkhead. Owner thinks it would make an excellent restoration project for someone. Contact him via sxf@teeafit.co.uk.
