According to Rob McIver, the car was released from Solihull, 19/10/56. Rob did a lot of research work on the build dates etc of the SXF Land-Rovers, and contributed a great deal to the information on this website.
The current owner, Alan Roberts, lived for a while near Macclesfield in Cheshire but then moved to the Channel Islands. He wrote "Any advice on how to retain an SXF reg when moving overseas gratefully received!". I have provided him with some pointers, but if any one has any direct experience of moving a vehicle to the islands I'd be pleased to hear them.
At the end of October 2017, Alan again emailed to say that 575 has been re-registered with a local number (J142430). He has retained the SXF plate, and hopes to bring it back to the UK in a few years. He took the car to the 2019 Goodwood Revival, and would be keen to attend an SXF Reunion, if any one plans to organise one. [Don't look at me, although I'd also be interested. GA]
