The prevous owner, Tim Baker, wrote (3/11):
SXF 591 doesn’t have its original engine in it but it is with the car. It was first registered in 1957, is green, has a soft top and still has a mounting for the cable laying equipment in the back. It is currently registered J29405 (in Jersey). It is in very original condition and has covered less than 30,000 miles.
The vehicle has now been sold to a new owner in Jersey.
Offered on eBay 5/11 by Le Riche Automobile Restorers with a 'Classified Ad' price of £6000. Description says:
Hidden away for many years after a fault occured with the original engine. Now replaced with a correct period unit and the original engine also comes with the car. It is rare to find a Series 1 in such good original condition with an excellent unwelded chassis. It comes complete with hard top, tailgate, and sides for winter use. The interior is mostly the original, with modern PVC and the original canvas seats a new canvas hood is also fitted. A good driving vehicle with low mileage. Vehicle can be landed on south coast of England, please enquire.
