New owner reported in the Series 1 Club list, 1972. Seen 11/01 in S. Manchester, "somewhat modified".
Advertised on eBay, October 2012, from Loughborough, Leicestershire. Seller wrote:
This vehicle was bought by myself about 2 years ago with the intention of restoring her to her former glory (no time as usual). The panels are pretty straight and the chassis is solid. The vehicle is complete with lots of extras. At some point the vehicle has been used for trialling so the fuel tank has been moved into the rear tub and a LT77 gearbox fitted along with twin SU carbs. The bulkhead behind the seat backs has been cut away to allow for bucket seats to be fitted (removed by previous owner). The previous owner also bought replacement fuel tank, seating, seat base, and wheels. The vehicle runs and drives and would not take much to get her through the MOT test. I maybe able to put 12 months ticket on her if she fetches around the £2k. The number plate comes with the vehicle — please check out how much the plate alone is worth. The V5 is Present.
The vehicle summary also gives the engine as 2¼ litre, so the original may have been replaced.
I have contacted the seller regarding the significance of the registration number. The starting price was £500 — sadly, it attracted no bids.
