Rod Hutchinson contacted me 10/03 to say:
"My father bought this in 1972 and then sold it to me in 1980. I then sold it to sombody in Silsden. At the time I sold it the engine wanted a rebuild, and I think I sold it with another engine. I have photographs of this Land Rover — if the person who owns it gets in touch, I would be happy to give him copies."
Owned (12/16) by Andy Kinnear, who wrote to say:
I am the owner of SXF825 and have been for seven years or so. I believe the original colour was green, however it's blue now as it was when I purchased 825.
At the July 2019 Masham Steam Rally, I was approached by Les Uttley, who saw my SXF870 registration. He was the "somebody in Silsden", or rather his brother-in-law Robert Bentley was. When he acquired the car it was "Kermit Green", but he rebuilt it completely before returning it to the original Deep Bronze Green, and passing it on to Les. When it became blue is unclear.
Andy Kinnear emailed asking for information about Home Office hard tops. He also said:
The motor at the moment is still in bits but as yet I’ve put new chassis and bulkhead on 825; new old-stock front slam panel; had rear and front axles rebuilt; engine and gearbox rebuilt. The body is in good shape and I am returning it to green. Hopefully [I'll] get it to Cumbria next year [for the LRSOC Rally] where the experts can tell me what’s not quite right????
