SXF 83

Sven Kilian, a Vet from Walsdorf in Germany, wrote "In 94 I stayed in Scotland for a while, and while travelling through the country I found a Series 1 SWB in Reay, close to Thurso in North Scotland. It was for sale at Sutherlands Garage. Still a vet student, I hadn't the money to buy the vehicle. One and half a years later, SXF 83 was still for sale for 1500 pounds. I advised a Scottish friend of mine (whose brother is a farmer in the area) to purchase the car for me. He made several efforts to contact the garage, but failed, and the car was eventually sold.

SXF 83 was used as stand-by fire engine commander's vehicle at a RAF air base and (as far as I remember) had only 38 thousand miles on the clock. It was in a really very good condition, completely overhauled by the RAF and therefore it was sad not to have the money to buy it when I first saw the vehicle.
