'The Green Machine' says that this vehicle was an AFS S/Top, and saw service at the Torrey Canyon Incident in March 1967, and was later owned by Nick Jones, Lydney, Gloucs.
This registration has been seen (2007) on a Defender 110 Station Wagon in Cumbria. Fate of the original vehicle unknown.
June 2007 — registration offered for sale on a personal number plate site for £1199. What a shame!
I had reports (August 2013) of SXF89 being seen in a field in Bedfordshire, along with Commer Q4 6" Hose Layer SXF524. I have no indication how long ago this was, and 524 is now on a private car.
